It is with great sadness that we announce that Guy Weatherby Snyder has passed away at age 89.   Guy passed away on June 18th, 2009, of natural causes at his home in Merritt Island, Florida.

Born January 2, 1920, in Bremen, Ohio, Guy lived in Merritt Island, Florida with his wife, Jean Sterling Snyder, until her death from complications of a burst brain aneurysm in 2004.

Guy is survived by two sons, Eric Leigh Snyder, of Port Orange, Florida, and Jeffrey Guy Snyder, currently living in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and their families, and a multitude of Snyder's and Weatherby's spread around the country.

Mr. Snyder was a World War II veteran, having served in the Glider Corps, and would always have animated and humorous stories to tell to any interested ears.   In the corporate world, Mr. Snyder was known as an accomplished Logistics Engineer, having worked at General Electric throughout the country for over 20 years, and been an active member of the Society of Logistics Engineers until his retirement.

After his retirement, Mr. Snyder was a key member in the National World War II Glider Pilots Association.  He almost never missed a reunion of that storied organization, and was highly active in it until his passing.

Guy loved fireworks and riding on roller coasters.  His favorite pastime until very recently was to drive over to EPCOT and watch "Illuminations".  He may well hold the record for repeat attendance of that show.

During his long and fruitful life, Guy had been stationed around the world, and touched many lives in Japan, Morocco, Holland, Germany, and the Bahamas.

Guy has been cremated and his remains were returned to his Sons.
